Butterworth court rules worker cannot sue employer after receiving Perkeso payout

The Butterworth sessions court ruled that a crane operator who received nearly RM47,000 in temporary disability payments for a work-related injury cannot sue his employer for damages over the same accident. The judge held that Section 31 of the Employees' Social Security Act 1969 bars workers covered by Perkeso from civil claims against their employers for workplace injuries.
